“I’m coming UP the other side”
When people ask if I feel that I’m over the hill,I tell them “Nope, I’m coming up the OTHER side”.
Fresh air - Freedom - Fun
- Family issues are behind you - they no longer live in your nest.
- The job, and those idiotic colleagues, are behind you.
- That annoying boss is annoying someone else.
- Your money concerns are less of a concern (if you did your retirement planning correctly - you did, right?).
- Maybe your money will last.
- Maybe a little bit left over for the kids - maybe!
- Nowadays, when some smarty pants kid suggests that you’re getting older …
- … you say, “Eh, and you’re not?”!
Let Freedom Reign
Let YOUR Freedom Reign
The 65 Joys of Turning 65 is written by a man who stepped across that timeline a few years ago.
He soon realized that he had found a new life of freedom. He could do whatever he wanted - so he was determined to make the absolute most of this new environment.
Busy as always - but doing different things - writing, blogging, podcasting, video production, workshops, speaking engagements and more. Without any pressure. Nice.
The wonderful part of this new freedom is that you can start to appreciate life in a whole different way. You can now handle the tough stuff, but you can now see the humorous side of life - and it is so refreshing. Silliness is easy and enjoyable. No-one is interested in what you do - and guess what? - you don’t care.
So, come along and let me share my silly stuff with a few serious add-ons - and enjoy the 65 Joys of Turning 65 with me.
Bill Storie.

Life-changing events - caused by you, caused by others, caused by nature, caused by health issues - are real.

Management today is difficult,
but if you don’t have the right mindset and tools
it is even more difficult than ever before.
Come Fly with Me
- Some managers manage from 35,000 feet - They are out of touch
- Some managers manage from ground level - They are too close to the fire
- Good managers manage from the helicopter - They’ve got it right.
Analogous Principle
Helicopter Management allows the manager to see the way ahead at a sensible height and distance, but can easily, and quickly, drop down to ground level to hold meetings and manage required changes with her team when necessary.
I can see clearly now the ….
Mountains, valleys, rivers, villages, forests, plains, seas, coasts -
and even the storms.
This book explains every aspect of managing from the “helicopter”.
Beginning with the Flight Plan - where are we going? And going through the Flight Path - how do we get there; who should be on board; maintaining communications; reporting back to base and filing progress reports.
In some ways this is a light-hearted approach to Leadership Management, but at its core is the amazing ability to get a clear picture of the both the short and long-term strategies that organizations must have in these new business environments.

What this pandemic has shown all of us, whether we are Leaders or Team Members, is that the focus on how we treat each other has come front and center. We all need to listen longer, more and better. People are scared about their future (understandably) and having a work-related conversation in the absence of passion - and compassion - is not healthy, for all parties.
This eBook outlines in simple terms what changes we should at least consider and ideally make.

After battling a three-day hurricane, on July 28, 1609, 150 souls were castaway on the shores of the Isle of Devils. They had been passengers on the Sea Venture which was the flagship of a 9-ship flotilla commissioned by the Virginia Company of London to aid the struggling English settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. During their 10-month stay they constructed two getaway ships to carry 135 survivors onto Jamestown where they saved the lives of 60 persons on the cusp of death from starvation and war. Many people believe that this episode is “Bermuda’s contribution” to “saving Virginia” – but we know this is hardly the full story.
Over the next two years, certain survivors of the Sea Venture got back to London and impressed upon the Virginia Company the need to settle Bermuda. In this book you’ll see how lessons learned from the “Bermuda Experience” inspired the Virginia Company to formulate much needed land reformation which, along with political reformation, saved Virginia from certain failure. This book will also trace the lives of many Sea Venture survivors and those who brought about the birth of America at Jamestown. In this process we are drawn into the adventures of Pocahontas.
Since Bermuda’s formal settlement in 1612, its economy has reacted from the effects of war, revolution, and from being Britain’s north Atlantic headquarters enabling it to command dominance in the region. Bermuda not only “changed with the times”, but also impacted change on both sides of the Atlantic. This book will illustrate, in ways never seen before, how the tiny island nation of Bermuda evolved from 1612 to where we are today - and what the future might hold.
